Hoar Frost
It has been below freezing for a few weeks at least now. That hasn't stopped the fog and the resulting hoar frost. The biggest challenge is finding an angle that doesn't have the white and gray background of the snow and fog. Here is what the frost looked like out where Shelby was horseback riding this morning.

Lake Atitlan -2004
I took this photo in December of 2004, when we went and stayed a few nights there for a New Year's break. This is a scanned slide. It is a version of one of over 20 photos I took in Guatemala which Guatemalan quilt artistPriscilla Bianchi used for illustration in her recent book, Caliente Quilts

The Pretty Picture
I promised a couple days ago. I've been to Krka twice. This is from our last visit in September with some friends that were visiting. It is a beautiful park with spectacular cascades, but I have yet to get a photograph that really captures it to my liking. Both of my visits were at mid-day and the lighting was harsh. I think it would be best fairly early in the morning...maybe next time.

The Latest Background
on my computer desktop. From the deck off the back of mom and dad's house. The series of photos from the sunset are also known to me as "dang! where is my tripod when I really need it" as none of the photos are nearly as sharp as they should be. I hand held at low shutter speeds. Worse still, a couple days later. I accidentally left my lighter, more portable tripod (which means more likely to be used) behind in Milford while I'm thousands of miles away in Sarajevo :(
